This Christmas we fell in love with Kelly Clarkson’s Christmas Album: Wrapped In Red. We’ve always been fans of Kelly, but what we love most about this album is that she has some catchy original holiday songs on here which is always a nice change of pace from the Christmas classics!
This is one of our favorites which is upbeat and sure to keep your workout going!
This week’s song on the hit list is Neon Lights by Demi Lovato! We’ve loved this song since her album came out this past spring/summer but she’s just released it as a new single! It starts off slow but picks up – should be a good addition to your running playlist!
This week on the Hit List is Lady Gaga’s new “Fashion” from ARTPOP!
We love her new album and this song is definitely going to be on our playlist. I definitely would add it to a warm up, cool down or light jog playlist!
We felt like it was time for a change! So, this week’s hit list song AND our new theme song is Work by Britney Spears. Of course its the censored version of the song, we like to keep it clean, a family show. But really this song is awesome and really exemplifies that for whatever it is you want in life, you better work for it. Its not going to come to you any other way!
For our “Hit List” segment this week, we wanted to share songs that would be meaningful to those who suffer from Diabetes. I was searching some of the Diabetes forums and I came across someone who posted that the song “Try” by Pink was inspirational to her. She had said, “Try, by Pink is my motivational song for diabetes, to try to keep my bg under control, exercise and manage my diet 24 hrs a day!” This song can really be motivational for anyone struggling and we knew that it had to be one of our picks for this week!
For our second song of the week, we were looking for an artist or celebrity who themselves suffer from Diabetes. We came across this great post about Patti LaBelle and her battle with Diabetes! Therefore, this week, we give a shout out to the “Divabetic” herself with a little “Lady Marmalade”!
We hope you enjoy our picks for this week and they give you that extra boost of motivation when you need it most! Happy listening!
Tea’s addition to our hit list is Pound Cake by Drake – we thought this was rather fitting considering she’s a baker. But truly she says this song helps her get into her zone while she’s training!
We chose this week’s song because well, its about a party and it makes you want to move!
What is a kiki you ask?
Per Urban Dictionary:
A party including good music and good friends, held for the express purpose of calming nerves, reducing anxiety and stress and generally fighting ennui. May involve locked doors, tea and salacious gossip.
Add this to your workout playlist or party playlist!
For Pinktober, the Breast Cancer Awareness episode, we chose I Was Here by Beyonce. We love this song because it talks about making your mark in life and making a difference in society. Its a great song for a cool down, stretching or a resistant hill on the spin bike!
On this Hit List this week is “This Is What It Feels Like” by Armin Van Buuren Ft. Trevor Guthrie.
We love this song because it has a good beat that goes well with interval training. Check it out!
In our interview we asked Dasha if she had a favorite song that gets her pumped up during her workouts! You would probably never expect it by looking at her but she said some of her favorite music that gets her going is anything by Biggie, TuPac and Guns n Roses!
We have to say, the playlists at Kettlebell Kickboxing really work and a lot of the stuff they play is old school and amazing and while you’re getting your butt kicked during class the music is almost a distraction from that becuase you’re saying “Oh my gosh, remember this song!?”
So instead of trying to keep up on the most current music, look to some old songs that get you going!
