Tyler’s choice for the hit list this week is Chant by Steel Pulse – check it out!
Nicole preferred to not share song this week and she had good reasons for it!
Being a marathon runner, she had to learn to run without music due to the fact that some regulations for some marathons require the runners to run without headphones in for safety purposes – whether an emergency happens behind you, weather conditions deteriorate and they make announcements to shut down the run, etc. This makes pretty perfect sense to us but we’ll need to really learn how to get ourselves pumped and in a zone without music, that’s for sure! Obviously, it can be done!
We LOVE this song and its message! Not to mention its totally catchy and makes you snap your fingers and all that other jazz! It’s All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor!
Alan’s choice for this week is “Turn Down for What” by DJ Snake & Lil Jon, as he say’s that is one of his boot camps favorites.
Additionally, they usually use Pandora and rotate between Hip Hop and Club/House music. Sometimes they cool down to R&B.
Kim is a big fan of I Heart Radio (their podcasts are broadcast there) and the ability to create a station. She types in Prince or Michael Jackson typically, and their music, plus similar music plays.
Apps like I Heart Radio or Pandora are great ways to keep variety in our workout music!
Seriously. The headline says it all. Alex’s coach used to say that classical music puts the body in sync so when he works out, past and present, classical music is his choice!

When we asked Elvi Guzman, founder of City Challenge Race, for his hit list selection this week he told us the following which we found really interesting:
“I don’t listen to music when I work out as much but if I would it would be some type of gospel or slow relaxing music. I love training so music is not needed to get me inspired to kick the gyms butt!”
We are headed to Nashville in a few weeks so our pick for this week is Miranda Lambert & Carrie Underwood – Something Bad
The ladies of a2a selected two songs for this week’s hitlist! The more the merrier according to us!
With the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend just past, signaling the start of summer, selected Summer by Calvin Harris.
Also chosen was Empire by Shakira, which we all seemed to consider to be a sleeper or rather a surprisingly good song to workout to! Check them both out via YouTube below!
